Chris Florence and I recently attended the annual meeting of The Gospel Coalition. TGC is a council composed of Reformed and evangelical leaders who are striving to restore the gospel to the center of American Evangelicalism. On the Council are representatives from an array of denominations: PCA, EPC, Anglican, RCA, EFree, Southern Baptist, Independent, etc. Through very personal discussions, prayer, devotions and scholarly papers we challenge one another to view every aspect of our ministry and every social challenge through the lens of the gospel. Our most major initiative has been The Gospel Coalition’s website which is a cutting edge resource for laymen and pastors. All of this I say as introduction to an article on the return of Reformed theology to evangelical churches—especially the youth among them. People have simply gotten tired of man-centeredness, so they are returning to the sovereign Christ of the gospel who says, “I will give you rest.”

I want to thank you, Pastor George for pointing us to this resource. I have found the Gospel Coalition website a wealth of help as I prepared for Bible Studies, wanted to look up reliable responses to current events from trusted scholars, or simply to be pointed to a book I ought to consider reading.
It’s definitely one of my favorite bookmarks.

Good post and good news! I can confirm your conclusions among the various chaplains in the military. The Baptist in particular are experiencing a resurgent Calvinism.
